Hyundai Motor Company has crafted a bold plan to bring 17 EVs, out of which 11 will be under the Hyundai brand, while the other six will be under the luxury arm of Hyundai Motor – Genesis Brand. Here is everything we need to know about Hyundai’s plan of upcoming EVs. “Hyundai is successfully accelerating its transition to electrification and becoming a global leader in EVs despite a challenging business environment caused by the global chip shortage and ongoing pandemic,” said President Chang. “Along with our seamless efforts to improve EV value, Hyundai Motor will continue to secure its business sustainability as a ‘Mobility Solutions Provider’ through advanced technologies of not only hardware but also software.” Hyundai Motor Company Just like the plans of its sister company Kia, Hyundai Motor Company is all set to pave its way to the future with electric vehicles. Currently, Hyundai has its Ioniq 5 EV SUV and Kona EV in the U.S. for sale just recently. Iconiq 5 comes with the option of a 72.6 kWh battery or a 58 kWh battery. It translates to 169hp and offers 350Nm torque for the smaller, single motor version. In contrast, the dual-motor version is 306hp of power and 605 Nm. As per the word around, the Ioniq cars will range to nearly 800km on a single charge owing to the lithium-ion battery technology. It plans to bring in two EVs each year starting in 2023. The company plans to bring at least 11 EVs by 2030. Owning it, Hyundai expects to cover at least 7 percent share in the global electric car market. The segmentation of Hyundai’s plan of 17 electric vehicles is six SUVs, three sedan models, one light-duty commercial vehicle, and a completely new segment of vehicles summing to eleven under the Hyundai brand. While the remaining six will be under the Genesis brand, out of which are two passenger cars and four SUVs. Apart from the recent launches, Ioniq 5 SUV Hyundai plans to launch Ioniq 6 and the Ioniq 7 EV by 2024, while Genesis will Launch only EVs by 2025. Hyundai’s Upcoming EVs will be equipped with Integrated Modular Architecture (IMA) and electric global modular platforms (E-GMP), a dedicated battery-electric vehicle platform. This platform is specifically designed for EVs and would enable Hyundai to develop vehicles with a slim cockpit, flat floor, and a flexible and spacious cabin, which would give it a competitive edge. This platform would hold a crucial significance in Hyundai’s EV strategy. This standardization aims to achieve lower cost, production efficiency, and standardization of battery and electric motor systems. Further, it plans to evolve from the latter and utilize it in the new EVs. This way, they can use it from making both passenger and purpose-built vehicles. Hyundai is now working on introducing the Highway Driving Pilot (HDP), which is a Level 3 autonomous driving function just like any other automaker giant that is paving the way for the electric vehicle future. The upcoming Genesis G90 luxury sedan is expected to have it in action. Coming back to the upcoming Hyundai’s Upcoming EVs Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 7, the heavily camouflaged test mule of Iconic 6 has been spotted several times. No wonder camouflage makes it harder to get into the details. However, as per the hints, it could draw the design inspiration from the Prophecy concept. At the same time, the Ioniq 7 electric car will be a full-size SUV. Roomers have it; it will be positioned above Ioniq 5 EV SUV and would have a lot in common with the Kia EV9 showcasing the sisterhood at its best.Tags: 2019 Subaru Forester Touring, 2020 BMW iX3, 2020 Chevrolet Suburban, 2020 dodge charger, 2020 EQC, 2020 Ford Super Duty, 2020 Honda Pilot, 2020 Kia Optima, 2020 Mercedes Benz, 2020 Nissan Versa, 2020 Subaru WRX STI, Audi SUV, BMW, Brandon K.
