Ford Confirms 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning EV Pickup EPA Driving Range Leaks

The EPA figures for the new Ford F-150 were leaked, which are officially confirmed by Ford CEO Jim Farley in a tweet. The long-range battery-equipped Pro model, which was not a retail option, would be available for fleet sales as per ford. Read further to discover the Lightning EV pickup lineup’s updated figures.

  • F-150 Lightning Lariat extended range: 320 miles
  • F-150 Lightning Lariat standard range: 230 miles
  • F-150 Lightning Pro extended range (fleet-only): 320 miles
  • F-150 Lightning Pro standard range: 230 miles
  • F-150 Lightning XLT extended range: 320 miles
  • F-150 Lightning XLT standard range: 230 miles
  • F-150 Lightning Platinum (extended range only): 300 miles
Customer deliveries of the all-new Ford F-150 Lightning EV pickup truck are expected to begin soon. A number of supposedly genuine Lightning pickup window stickers have been uploaded on the F150gen14.com forums, showing pricing, package, and revised range estimates, possibly indicating that deliveries will begin shortly. A quick search of a handful of the VIN numbers turned up Ford F-150s with electric drivetrains. As a result, these could be genuine. If this is the case, they appear to show fresh EPA range estimates for Ford’s upcoming electric truck. Ford’s standard range battery configuration (98 kWh) will produce 230 miles in Pro trim, according to the stickers. The Pro and Lariat trims are expected to get 320 miles out of the extended range battery pack (131 kWh), while the Platinum gets somewhat less than 300 miles. Wait for a second—a Pro trim with a longer range? Given that such a combination isn’t available on Ford’s online configurator for the 2022 F-150 Lightning, eagle-eyed readers may have already vomited out their coffee at that one. The Pro is only available in the standard range, which means that if you want a bigger battery (and a 320-ish-mile range), you’ll have to go to the XLT or higher trims. On the window sticker, the standard-range Pro trim has a charge time of 11.9 hours at 240V, the extended-range Pro and Lariat trims have a charge time of 10.1 hours, and the Platinum trim has a charge time of 9.3 hours. The Monroney range estimates almost completely match what Ford previously forecasted for the Lightning trim lineup data, with the exception that the Platinum trim has added 20 more miles than Ford originally estimated.

The most fuel-efficient trims are the Pro and Lariat, which get an estimated 70 MPGe. The Platinum trim gets 68 MPGe, while the Pro trim gets 66 MPGe on the standard-range battery. The new F-150 Lightning is now on par with Rivian’s R1T and R1S competitors in terms of electric vehicle efficiency. Further, Ford also affirmed that, due to overwhelming demand, it was significantly increasing production forecasts, with the goal of eventually reaching 150,000 per year. Ford’s Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Michigan will build the F-150 Lightning EV this spring.
