The SUV competes with the aforementioned Korean models, the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla’s Model Y; however, its dimensions remain closer to those of a Toyota RAV4. Often the learning curve, hidden buttons, or leading-edge technology present in the EVs is quite intimidating for many. This car won’t have any such issue as it does not have any such facets.

What’s In for The EV Enthusiasts About Range?

2023 Subaru Solterra is powered by a dual-motor setup delivering 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque. The Limited and Touring models get 222 miles of range, while the Premium trims get 228 miles. 72.8-kWh lithium-ion battery takes around 56 minutes to reach 80 percent charge when content with the DC fast charger where, as it can take up to nine hours to get a full battery on Level 2 home charger. The cabin is fully equipped with numerous fun techs and new Solterra features. The 2023 Subaru Solterra features an 8.0-inch touchscreen as standard. Limited and Touring trims get a 12.3-inch display. Both screens feature Toyota’s latest infotainment system, which will be compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and has Google Maps navigation. The premium trim carries numerous exciting features like heated seats, dual-zone A/C, and four USB ports are standard. Further, it has A/C’s capacitive touch controls comprising hard buttons to turn the temperature up or down and adjust the fan speed. The cabin is spacious in terms of both passenger as well as cargo. The reason is Subaru’s usage of that space to package the EV’s inverters and cables under the hood. The digital instrument cluster is placed keeping ease of use by the driver in mind, but in the case of Solterra, it seems to be far away from the driver. Further, the steering wheel becomes a hurdle in the complete view of the digital cluster. Unlike other cars, you will have to see the speedometer over the steering wheel. Further, the center console’s piano black trim is shiny and is highly prone to getting dirty easily with fingerprints.

The drive remains quite impressive given the facets like the good feel of the damping system, ease of tackling road imperfections, quieting suspension, and more. The prices of the 2023 Subaru Solterra are yet to be announced. It is expected to be starting at around $42,000—not counting any state or federal tax credits.
