America sure wanted something between the work truck and a lifestyle truck, and the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor is it. This midsized truck comes with serious horsepower,
and we couldn’t agree more that we needed it. Talking of the old truck, which lacked a lot of things, was why people were not opting to buy it. This’ ford baby raptor to have everything that a Ford Ranger Trucks with Raptor badge lacked. To start with, it does not have the highly anticipated 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 diesel but the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 instead. That’s 284 horsepower and 362 lb-ft of torque (in Europe), making it 74 horsepower than the diesel engine offers. In comparison, the Australian version will be 392 hp and 430 lb-ft. Specs regarding the same for the U.S. are yet to come. But one this that we are sure of is that Ford had emphasized high performance with this engine. The power in this engine is channeled with a 10-speed automatic transmission with a two-speed transfer case which is featured in a full-time four-wheel-drive system. This systems works reduce the amount of time they need to create a boost while keeping the turbos spinning. Further, the Engine is facilitated with the anti-lag system that we see in Ford’s GT supercar. This midsized truck showcases impressive requisite off-road hardware with the presence of Requisite front and rear diff lockers, Fox shock absorbers, and more. The Ford Ranger Raptor will be available in seven selectable terrain modes, including the Baja Mode and off-road specific modes, namely Sand, Mud/Ruts, and Rock Crawl. Baja mode is one for those who love high-speed desert rips as it supports high-speed off-road running. The chassis is reinforced in crucial facets, whether it be the rear roof pillar, shock towers, or more. This way, it would cope with the strain on the suspension even when hitting 60 mph on the playa. The Raptor’s steel bash plate combines with the engine under the shield to protect the Ranger’s underbody. These 2.3mm steel plates would protect vulnerable points underneath the front. This steel plat extends outwards from the bumper, adding to the stylish underbite of the truck. With the addition of this steel plate radiator, engine sump, steering, and differential are all protected. That’s considerable peace of mind for off-road enthusiasts, given the obstacles that can hit the underbody during off-road adventures. Further, to get better control over the car at high speed, aluminum upper and lower control arms and a live axle with a Watt’s linkage outback would enable that. For Fox to swipe 2.5-inch Live Valve, internal bypass shock absorbers will address the wheel oscillation punishment. As per Ford, the Teflon-infused oil in the revised shock absorbers is all set to reduce friction and performance-robbing heat by a whopping 50 percent. The model features Bottom-Out Control to enhance damping force in the rear quarter of the shock’s travel to prevent spine-rearranging slaps from bump stops.

Not to forget that the current-gen Ranger was never initially designed for the American market and was adopted from the global-market truck. The Ford Ranger Raptor is all handsome and Maverick-influenced look. Though it is designed to keep the U.S. in mind, this truck is undeniably a truly global product. It is because Ford surely made considerations that would increase its appeal among buyers with different conceptions and expectations from a Midsize Truck or a Full-Size Aggro. The elements that would come to your mind would be big fenders with black arch extensions, hood and fender blisters, rugged rear end with Raptor-signature twin-exit exhausts, BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, and Ford’s signature grille with a “FORD” logo you could see from space! These are all present in the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor. It would even have some Euro-market styling elements like the loop and side rails. It is all too good to be true, but it is a fact. Talking of the interiors, it holds a similar to the global Ranger but is extensively more modern than it.
