The New Mercedes-Maybach S680 – Comes Equipped with Five Incredible Features

Maybach designed the V12 Maybach HL230 engine for German Panzer and Tiger tanks before World War II. WWII tank versions had the same engine. Daimler-Benz bought the facility after WWII and used it to construct the Mercedes-Benz W108 and W116.In 1997, Volkswagen planned to compete with Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

Fewer than 3,000 Maybach 57 and 62 (and variations) were sold over 16 years. It was revived in 2014 as a Mercedes sub-brand, following the model of Mercedes-line AMG cars. Mercedes-latest Benz’s innovation is the V12 Mercedes-Maybach S680. The S680 motor starts at $574,000 with extras and on-roads, 235% more than the S-Class. If you want a capacious saloon, expect to pay almost $650,000 on the open road, rivaling the Bentley Mulsanne ($541,000) and Rolls-Royce Ghost ($644,650).

So, what is it about the Maybach that makes it so unique?

The Maybach car is not meant to be driven by its owner, according to the Germans themselves. A Maybach is a desirable car because of the extensive list of high-tech amenities it comes equipped with. Unlike other luxury automakers, such as Rolls Royce and Bentley, the Maybach focuses on cutting-edge technology and cutting-edge design to provide the highest possible level of luxury.

An apparently endless array of features and options is available in both Mercedes-S-Class Benz and Maybach. A list of the top five features available in Australia, as determined by our recent experience behind the wheel of an S680, has been created. Autonomous driving systems and active projection lighting are also available in Europe for this automobile, but the United States does not get them due to our strict design rules. In Europe, this vehicle boasts a stunning active lighting system.

Compensation for road noise that is active

Noise-canceling technology and vehicle implementation are old. While many of us are familiar with Amar Bose’s headphones, the first car to feature active noise canceling was a 1992 Nissan Bluebird. Lotus developed the technology for automobile use. Comparing today’s technology to Maybach’s use throughout the last few decades is difficult. S680’s noise cancellation technology is so good, that we thought it was electric (it’s not; it has a V12) while traveling 20 to 180 km/h. How does everything work? We’ll explain out-of-phase sound waves to non-audio engineers. Every sound wave has a canceling frequency. Low-frequency Road noises create a droning sound in the passenger compartment. Maybach’s suspension has six acceleration sensors. These sensors can alert a computer to noises. Computers use proprietary algorithms to generate counter-noise.

The Maybach’s bottom speakers neutralize droning sound waves in 3 milliseconds (yes, three milliseconds). Mercedes engineers found that a slower vehicle wouldn’t have the desired effect on the human ear. Four internal microphones monitor and adapt the audio system, creating a feedback loop. Mercedes states that active road noise adjustment counterwaves aren’t audible to occupants, and we agree.

Front and rear seat safety systems

The Maybach is created for its owner, who is most likely seated in the back, which means that safety measures are absolutely vital, as (with the S-Class) it becomes the first automobile that we know of which features front-facing airbags. for the rear occupants.

In fact, a specific tubular structure houses an airbag that deploys quickly from behind the front seats to protect the vehicle’s rear occupants in the event of a collision, owing to the compressed gas provided by a cold gas generator. It’s not over yet, though.

With the addition of the previously stated frontal rear airbag, the Maybach Mercedes also includes cushion airbags (which prevent you from submerging in the event that the rear seat is reclined), belt bags (out of your seatbelt), and a middle airbag. To be effective, airbags must be used and deployed in a specific way, which manufacturers may easily claim their vehicle possesses. Using a variety of crash sensors, a computer in the Maybach can detect all collisions and calculate the severity of the impact.

Takes up to a week to hand pain

One week is required for a two-toned paint job, and even the smallest flaw means starting over from scratch, as shown below with the design rubellite red/kalahari gold combination. Maybach’s dual-tone is challenging to paint because it doesn’t fall across an easily discernible line. As part of this procedure, the Maybach’s entire body is electrostatically painted and clearcoated in the same color as the bottom portion of the vehicle.

Paint particles atomized into statically charged atoms are applied to the bodyshell in Maybach’s electrostatic painting procedure in the bespoke paint shop, the bodyshell is ground down to a matte finish by hand.
