VW Golf Takes Sleekly Character to a New Level
The Volkswagen Golf has been one of the most iconic cars from the German automaker’s stable. Gerald Ford was the US President; it was five years since man had landed on moon and the word ‘Internet’ was mentioned the very first time and years from commercial rollout when the first Golf rolled out in Germany in 1974. The very fact that the car has been there for nearly half a century talks volumes of how the VW has reinvented the Golf. The next model would be the first in the eight generation of the vehicle and designers at VW have given a new character to their favourite baby. If you are looking for a sleek compact car for your family the latest design facelift might be the perfect one for you.
Volkswagen is days away from unveiling the latest gen of VW Golf but the prototypes that have already been spotted speak volumes of the work that has undergone into giving their best-selling model a new lease of life. Few sketches of the vehicle have been released as a teaser to the big event later this month. From what we have seen so far the new gen Golf is taking the sleekly character to a whole new level. The rounded design characteristic of Mk7 Golf has been done away with and the car appears to be more edgy from all the sides. The rounded roof is gone and it is one of the most significant design changes in the vehicle.
A slim grille makes it stand out and so does the new headlights which add more contemporary style facto to the car. VW has also worked on the interiors where the old instrument cluster has been replaced with large dials and a touchscreen infotainment system that would immediately catch your attention. The only catch is media reports claiming that the new gen Golf won’t make it to the US market immediately. We hope that’s not true as this would surely be one of the best compact cars to drive.
