So, what exactly is a Dacia Jogger? It’s essentially a Dacia Sandero estate, with an enlarged platform that accommodates (almost) seven passengers. With a slightly higher ride height and a stepped roofline, it’s also on the verge of becoming a family SUV.
There’s nothing else like it on the market, but it’s likely to be compared to traditional estate cars like the Skoda Octavia Estate or the electric MG 5 EV. With a starting price of under £15,000, you’re more likely to consider it as a replacement for a four-year-old Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer or Vauxhall Zafira.

Nonetheless, the Dacia Jogger will appeal to buyers who don’t require cutting-edge technology or obnoxious touch-sensitive climate control buttons. The Dacia Jogger Essential does not even have an infotainment screen; instead, it has a phone holder.
It’s just a simple cabin to adjust to. The chairs are comfortable but don’t expect features such as electronic adjustment or lumbar support. Although you sit higher than in a typical hatchback, you won’t be towering over other drivers.

However, it seems as though it will be able to withstand anything that family life can throw at it, and at least there is a strip of cloth running across the dash so that it is not just one solid piece of plastic.

The Dacia Jogger has exterior proportions that are comparable to those of a Volkswagen Golf Estate. It is 4547 millimeters in length and 2007 millimeters wide (including the door mirrors).
However, it is well packaged, so despite its relatively small footprint, it gives the impression of having a surprising amount of space. You will receive an extended wheelbase, which indicates that the wheels will be stretched out to each corner in order to maintain the available volume of room inside. You also receive a sloped roof, which results in an abundance of headroom within the vehicle.
There is no doubt that the room in the front is more than sufficient. There is not a high sitting position available, unlike in an SUV option such as the Skoda Karoq, but there is sufficient space for two persons to sit comfortably without having to bump elbows with each other. The second row of seats does not give the impression of being claustrophobic at all thanks to the large windows and the raised roof, although adults may find that their knees brush up against the front seats.

Rear parking sensors are standard across the range, with front parking sensors and a reversing camera available on Comfort and Extreme SE variants. The Dacia Jogger is a far better option than a classic people carrier like the Volkswagen Touran if you have a tight driveway.
Around town, a light clutch pedal and light steering assist, and the manual gearbox are simple to operate. The Dacia Jogger isn’t exactly a snappy handler outside of town, but it has plenty of traction and doesn’t feel like a boat in the corners. It’s a shame Dacia doesn’t sell the Jogger with four-wheel drive, but that would add cost and complication to the vehicle that few purchasers would want.
