2022 New York Auto Show: Must-See Debuts
We all are aware of the last-minute postponement, then cancellation of the 2021 New York Auto Show. The shoppers and enthusiasts were the ones who took the blow of it as their curiosity was left unanswered. Here it is one year later with a full list of vehicles debuts and interactive activities. This show is all set to ease the curiosity of various categories of showgoers, from family-focused, electric-vehicle-curious to adventure-oriented. For 2022 show the spotlight on two vehicle categories: SUVs and EVs. Battery-powered vehicles from well-known brands like Kia, Volkswagen, and Nissan and lesser-known brands like VinFast will be on display. A couple of redesigned three-row SUVs from sister brands Kia and Hyundai stand out among the whole lineup. Nissan will also showcase its off-road-oriented family hauler for city dwellers eager to escape the urban vibe. The Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride, so-called cousin SUVs, are getting a redesign for 2023. Hyundai previewed a facelift for the 2023 Palisade, displaying revised headlights and a larger grille. These both would be are making their premieres in New York. According to Kia’s teaser, the 2023 Telluride will come with enhanced capability. Some technological enhancements would follow a new X-Pro model. The surge of new adventure-inspired trims results from an increase in the desire for rugged SUVs. Nissan is bringing in 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek to introduce in the show. The desire for rugged SUVs is alive and well, leading to a surge of new adventure-inspired trims. Nissan is joining in with the 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek, set to be introduced at the show. The Rock Creek variant is to be available only with four-wheel drive. It will come with an off-road-tuned suspension, 18-inch all-terrain tires, and a unique front-end design.Electric Vehicles: A futuristic View
At the New York show, all-new battery-powered vehicles will take center stage. Kia Niro, plug-in, and all-electric vehicles are planned to be revised for the 2023 model year. The Nissan Leaf was one of the first all-electric vehicles on the market. Now Nissan is giving the all-electric hatchback a minor facelift for the 2023 model year before it goes on sale. The 2023 Leaf will debut with a new front-end style and wheel design. The event will feature a few future EVs in addition to existing models. Volkswagen will show off its ID. Buzz is an electrified version of the famous Microbus that debuted in Detroit in 2017. Chrysler will bring its all-electric Airflow Concept SUV to New York after its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January. VinFast, a newcomer to the event, is a welcome addition: The two-row VF8 and three-row VF9, the all-electric brand’s first SUVs, will display. The EV Test Track
Visitors who want to learn more about all-electric vehicles can take a trip in one of several battery-powered cars on display. A test track for different brands will be located on an entire floor dedicated to electric vehicles. The Chevrolet Bolt EV, Kia EV6, Nissan Leaf, VinFast VF8, VW ID.4, and Volvo XC40 Recharge Twin are among the vehicles tested on-site.Dates and Ticket Insights
The 2022 New York Auto Show starts with the public on Friday and runs through April 24. The venue will be the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, located at 11th Avenue between 34th and 40th Streets.
