Hyundai's Ioniq 7

Hyundai’s Ioniq 7 Electric SUV Is All Set to Hit the Road Soon

Car enthusiasts witnessed a concept Hyundai called the Seven at the L.A. auto show. It is an electric vehicle that has a lounge-style interior with swivel seats. This is not what astounded the car enthusiast but the absence of a steering wheel. Hyundai is aggressively exploring the vehicle to pave the way to its autonomous vehicle future. The concept called the Seven is not any futuristic fantasy or work of fiction that could hardly make it to be the reality of the future. Even the need for a steering wheel back instead of a retractable joystick looks like a futuristic fantasy, but we know the reality today. Various facets of the Hyundai’s Ioniq 7 look like a big brother to the 2022 Ioniq 5 electric SUV. The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 seems to be the initial milestone to making the Seven is a viable look. As per the recent reports, the Korean automaker is already working on making the Ioniq 7 midsize three-row SUV a reality as per Jose Munoz, Hyundai Global Chief Operating Officer and the president and CEO of Hyundai Motor North America. “A lot of things can make it to production,” Munoz says. “It’s gonna be pretty close. You’ll be amazed.” The family SUV will use Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform. This platform can all-wheel-drive electric vehicles with different battery systems and accommodate multiple rears. All sizes of E.V.s, including subcompact to the three-row Seven, will use the e-GMT architecture.

Exterior Design

SangYup Lee, head of Genesis Global Design, says, the aerodynamic shape of the exterior of the Seven shows the productionintent. The interior space seems to stay uncompromised even with the rugged SUV exterior. The longest wheelbase (almost 11 feet) remains the discrete face of this Hyundai concept. It makes an exceptional design with pillarless coach doors on the passenger side while symmetrical doors on the driver’s side, which contrasts to conventional doors all the way around in the production of Hyundai’s Ioniq 7. As per Lee, only one door on the left and two on the right side of the vehicle can make it to reality but might not receive public acceptance.

Seven Concept Interior

The Hyundai global chief marketing officer, Thomas Schemera, said Hyundai wanted a new in-car experience for customers with innovative use of space. The front and rear seats swivel to face front or back. The concept’s interior has a 77-inch panoramic screen on the ceiling and a universal island with a 27-inch display. So you can either enjoy it or even utilize it as a workspace. “The interior is a little more visionary than the exterior because we have a vision of full autonomy,” Lee says. “In the meantime, we can give it [Ioniq 7] a regular steering wheel, but we still want to create a feeling of a family lounge space.” In Contrast, Gil Castillo, senior group manager, Alternative Vehicle and Advanced Vehicle Strategy, for Hyundai Motor North America, says the huge monitor on the transparent screen roof is doable but might not make sense to market now. It remains a vision of what can be incorporated when autonomous interiors are recreated as mobile lounges.

Sustainable Materials Remains the Key

Many recyclable materials, copper and bamboo, are utilized in the cabin. The theme to emphasize Hygiene will make to production. It is equipped with numerous air filters and a “hygiene mode” to clean the Seven concepts between uses. It has an air circulation system inspired form what offer in the airplane with ventilation. The passengers in the pressurized cabin can breathe different air in each row. Hyundai is growing its brand value by offering more competitive design and is entering new price segments in the Ioniq sub-brand for electric vehicles as per Schema. The 2022 Ioniq 5 electric SUV, which recently went on sale, the next in line Hyundai Prophecy concept Ioniq 6 sedan, and 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 7 is where this all started. The Hyundai’s Ioniq 7 is being designed to stand out and would have some resemblance to others in the Ioniq family.
