The First Look Of 2023 Range Rover Sport Revealed
The Land Rover Range Rover was recently given a big makeover, and now it’s time for the smaller, more athletic Range Rover Sport to get a makeover as well. The new electrification of the 2023 Range Rover Sport is the biggest news. At introduction in North America, there will be four engine options, with a fifth, completely electric Range Rover Sport planned for 2024. Customers will have a choice of two mild-hybrid powertrains, a plug-in hybrid vehicle, or a twin-turbo V-8 if they don’t want any of the electric stuff.
The Elegance of The Design
The configuration of the three stacked grille apertures has been reshuffled with a Velar-like slickness, topped with new tiny headlights—the slimmest ever installed on a Land Rover. Everything has been squeezed to a super flat wall of a face, with a fully integrated bumper and minimal edge flaring to visually define the vehicle’s corners. The stylish new Sport, according to the firm, has a drag coefficient of just 0.29.
The more difficult aspect of the new Sport’s design fitted the required sensory equipment under the redesigned grille. Every range rover supersport now includes automated emergency braking, wade sensing, maneuvering lights, advanced cruise control with driver monitoring, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and the company’s 3D surround-view camera and ClearSight ground view camera, which allows you to see through the hood and front of the vehicle on the screen for careful off-road maneuvering.
Exterior curvature has been reduced to a bare minimum for a more “refined” look, and trim elements have been reduced in comparison to the previous model. The new Sport has a more swept-back roofline and a continuous shoulder line design that continues from the headlight to the taillights, making it appear quicker in profile than the outgoing model.
The new Sport’s flush glass glazing tucks any obvious gaps between the window and the body, hiding ugly trim edges, which the design team was particularly excited about. The front and rear bumpers of a new “SE Dynamic model” type of the Sport have smooth burnished copper finishes, a graphite-colored grille and lettering, and satin grey alloy wheels. For the first year of Range Rover Sport sales, a First Edition with the Stormer Handling Pack will be available, which includes Dynamic Response Pro, a 48-volt electrical system for active body roll control.
The Ravishing Interior
Inside, the front seats are 22-way adjustable with massage capabilities and winged headrests, and the back seats gain 0.8 inches of legroom over the Sport. There is active Noise Cancellation in Range Rover Sport Interior which reduces exterior road and tire noise while keeping the powertrain’s “undiluted tone.”
If you’re concerned about fresh air, there’s also an innovative cabin air filtration system that filters out allergies, odors, and pollutants from the outside. The Range Rover Sport Interior also has a new 13.1-inch touchscreen with the newest infotainment system capable of over-the-air updates, as well as a 13.7-inch driver display screen, each with a customized user interface, which is available. It is equipped with a 29-speaker Meridian sound system.

The Power
Built on the land rover range rover’s versatile MLA chassis design, the electric revolution has struck the new Sport hard, giving plenty of performance at each price point. The P360 mild hybrid, which is powered by the company’s Ingenium 3.0-liter I-6 engine, has 355 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, while the P400 mild hybrid has 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.
The PHEV Range Rover Sport P440e Autobiography has 434 horsepower and 619 pound-feet of torque, and Land Rover claims it can travel up to 48 miles on electricity alone thanks to its 31.8 kWh battery pack and a 105-kW electric motor mated to its 3.0-liter I-6 engine. Finally, the “flagship” twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 produces 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. The Sport model has an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, adaptive air suspension, and the company’s Intelligent All-Wheel Drive technology. The fifth model, the 2024 Range Rover Sports EV, will receive performance and range estimations in later Range Rover Sport sales.
The new Sport also has all-wheel steering, which the firm claims gives it the “turning circle of a hatchback” for maneuverability at low speeds and cornering stability at high speeds. Off-road, the new range rover supersport is equipped with the Terrain Response 2 system and adaptive off-road cruise control, which allows the driver to concentrate on steering while the car handles the throttle.
2023 Range Rover Sport Pricing
The 2023 Range Rover Sport Pricing, and the performance breakdown would be something like this. $83,000 for a P360 SE Mild Hybrid 3.0L Turbocharged I6 (355 horsepower / 369 lb-ft). $90,000 P440e Dynamic Mild Hybrid 3.0L Turbocharged I6 (PHEV) $104,200 for the Autobiography Plug-In Hybrid 3.0L Turbocharged I6 (434 horsepower / 619lb-ft) and $121,500 for the P530 First Edition 4.4L Twin Turbocharged V8 (523 horsepower / 553 lb-ft).
A third of Range Rover Sport sales are made in the United States, with New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami, in particular, bringing in the bacon for the brand. The new range rover supersport will be delivered in September.
